A Little About Dom:
Off the air I am Rick, I am 40 years old, and currently live in Denver,
Colorado. On the air as you know I am known as Dom. I get asked all
the time what Dom is short for or where I got the name from so I thought
I would let everyone know. Dom is actually short for Dominator, my old
gaming name back in the day when I was a gamer, and my old gaming buddies
use to call me Dom, Domie, Domster, so the name kind of stuck and I
just went with it, and have been using Dom now for over 12 years in
broadcasting and being a Disc Jockey.
My ex-wife (Zam) and I started HOOAH!!!! Radio back in October 2005,
when our son was first leaving for his first deployment to Iraq with
the U.S. Army, and thought it would be a great way to bridge the gap
on communication to Soldiers and their families back home waiting on
their safe return back to their families. I strongly believe that there
are "3 Rules" that need to be followed on HOOAH!!!! Radio,
because of the diverse backgrounds and areas soldiers come from, and
that's Religion, Race, and Politics - none of these areas need to be
addressed or brought up on the air waves of HOOAH!!!! Radio. What's
important to soldiers is to hear positive messages no matter what the
mission is from people back home that really do care about their safety
and fast return home.
I've been in broadcasting for over 20 years, including at my own Mobile
DJ Company in Alaska, also DJing at clubs, wedding receptions, parties,
and for HOOAH!!!! Radio. My day job consists of being a Senior Sales
Engineer for a Software Company, I have been a Sales Engineer now for
over 14 years, and enjoy it very much.
Besides being the proud Founder and Owner of HOOAH!!!! Radio, I also
take pride in being a "Dad" to some amazing children. I have
a 23 year old son (Steven), who proudly serves in the United States
Army and has been deployed to Iraq twice. I also have a beautiful and
gorgeous daughter (Nikki) who is 21 years old. Nikki recently finished
her course in LPN, and has been working as a CNA since she was 16 years
old. I am very proud of the fact I adopted both Steven and Nikki when
they were 8 and 6 years old, and they proudly wear and carry my last
name in life. I also have the joy of my life and my world who is proudly
named Ricky (Dom Jr.), sometimes you can catch Ricky on air with me.
If you ever get the chance to hear Dom Jr. on air with me rock in' the
air waves, you will hear where he gets his personality from, and you
will think like I do was he born with a headset and microphone on during
delivery. I also am the proud baseball coach for the third year in a
row for Ricky's baseball team the Patriots, and have enjoyed the opportunity
to see my son excel and grow with baseball every year.
I have to say this is the second online radio station I have owned in
12 years of being in Online Radio, and I have to say I have never worked
with such a great group of Volunteer Disc Jockeys anywhere. The dedication
and loyalty that these volunteers show each and every day when they
are on the air at HOOAH!!!! Radio, is something I haven't seen at FM
radio station with paid Disc Jockeys. I am very honored to have the
chance to get to turn everyday people in to some of the "Best On-Air"
talent that's on the internet. I get a lot of feedback on the station
on a daily basis and the one thing that you will find here at HOOAH!!!!
Radio that is commented on so much is the listener interaction with
the HOOAH!!!! Radio Disc Jockeys. This is something that is completely
different than any radio station anywhere in the world, and allows the
HOOAH!!!! Radio listener the ability to feel like family at all times.
I invite you to tell your friends, family, and soldiers you may know
that do not know about HOOAH!!!! Radio, and get them to become a new
listener of HOOAH!!!! Radio. And to all the HOOAH!!!! Radio listeners
that have been supporting us over the years, I greatly appreciate your
support, and the support you give our brave men and woman of the Armed
Forces.
